Five Days with My Womb Tea

There is something intimate about blending your own herbs.

Not from a recipe.

Not from a trend.

But from listening.

Five days ago, I began drinking a simple blend I created for myself:

Damiana.

Rose.

Vanilla bean.

I didn’t start it as a product.

I didn’t start it with a promise.

I started it because I wanted to feel my body more clearly.

And I’m still on my cycle.

The First Three Nights

The first few evenings I drank it, I fell asleep quickly. Deeply.

Not drugged.

Not heavy.

Just… surrendered.

The kind of sleep that feels like your nervous system has been waiting for permission to rest.

That surprised me.

None of these herbs are strong sedatives. But something in the combination — the warmth, the softness, the circulation — seemed to tell my body it was safe enough to let go.

Night Four and Five

Then something shifted.

Instead of collapsing into sleep, I felt:

Relaxed.

Clear.

Alert in a soft way.

Still bleeding. Still in my moon time.

But not tired. Not wired. Just steady.

That’s when I realized this blend doesn’t force an outcome.

It meets me where I am.

What These Herbs Offer During Menstruation

When we bleed, estrogen and progesterone drop. The uterus contracts and releases. The nervous system can feel tender. Energy dips.

This is not a time for pushing.

It is a time for warmth. Circulation. Listening.

Here is what each herb may gently offer a woman during her bleed.

Damiana — The Sacral Spark

Physically:

Damiana supports pelvic circulation. During menstruation, that warmth can assist the uterus in releasing smoothly rather than gripping. Some women experience reduced stagnation, less heaviness, and a feeling of warmth in the lower belly. It can also gently lift mood during hormonal dips.

Emotionally:

Damiana reminds you that you are still alive in your sensual body, even while bleeding. It can help prevent the emotional flatness some women feel during their cycle.

Spiritually:

It tends the sacral chakra — the creative, sexual, life-force center. During menstruation, when we are shedding, damiana keeps the inner flame from dimming too low. It whispers: Your power is cyclical, not gone.

Rose — The Heart Guardian

Physically:

Rose is traditionally used to soothe the nervous system and may gently ease uterine tension. It supports circulation while softening inflammation. During menstruation, when the body is vulnerable, that softness matters.

Emotionally:

Rose holds the tender places. It supports grief, sensitivity, and mood shifts. Instead of suppressing emotion, it allows it to move gently.

Spiritually:

Rose connects the womb and the heart. It teaches that bleeding is not something to hide — it is a sacred release. Rose says: Your softness is sacred.

Vanilla Bean — The Warm Embrace

Physically:

Vanilla soothes the stress response. Its aroma alone can calm the nervous system, helping the body shift into parasympathetic rest. During menstruation, when fatigue can hit, that gentle grounding is supportive.

Emotionally:

Vanilla comforts without overwhelming. It reduces irritability and adds a subtle sweetness to the experience.

Spiritually:

Vanilla is grounding magic. It anchors the body in safety. It reminds you that pleasure and comfort are allowed — even during your bleed.

What 14 Days May Gently Support

I am only five days in. I am not claiming transformation.

I am observing.

If taken consistently for 14 days — through menstruation and into the follicular phase that follows — this blend may gently assist with:

• Smoother menstrual release

• Improved pelvic blood flow

• Nervous system regulation

• Emotional steadiness

• Increased body awareness

• Subtle sensual reawakening after bleed phase

• A more grounded rise into ovulation

Not because the herbs force the body.

But because consistency builds relationship.

And relationship builds safety.

The Missing Piece: Rest & Touch

No herb replaces listening.

During menstruation, the body asks for:

• More sleep

• Warmth

• Gentle movement

• Nourishing food

• Touch

Massage during your cycle — especially abdominal or lower back support — can increase circulation and reduce tension. Slow bodywork helps the uterus soften instead of grip.

We are not meant to power through our bleed.

We are meant to tend to it.

The tea is not the magic.

The ritual is.

The pause is.

The willingness to say, “What do I need tonight?”

The Quiet Magic

There is something powerful about drinking the same blend each night and listening.

Not forcing sleep.

Not forcing arousal.

Not forcing healing.

Just creating a ritual and letting the body respond.

Damiana awakens the sacral space.

Rose protects the heart.

Vanilla seals it with warmth.

And I’m only five days in.

I’ll return at fourteen and share what unfolds.

For now, I can say this:

It feels like being in conversation with my womb.

And that feels like medicine. 🌙
